Zac Signs to Optimum for GT Open

Fresh off his championship-winning 2024 season, Zac Meakin is set to make his GT3 racing debut in 2025. He will compete in the prestigious GT Open International series with Optimum Motorsport, joining forces with fellow rising talent Mikey Porter.

The move represents a major step in Zac’s career, as he graduates from GT4 success to the fiercely competitive world of GT3 racing. Sharing the car with Porter, the duo will face off against established professionals and factory-backed drivers across some of Europe’s most iconic circuits, including Spa-Francorchamps, Monza, and Barcelona.

Speaking about the announcement, Zac said:

“I couldn’t be more excited to step up into GT3 with Optimum Motorsport. GT Open is the perfect platform to learn and prove myself against some of the best in the business, and to be teaming up with Mikey makes it even more special. We’re both hungry to show what we can do on the European stage.”

The GT Open International Championship has long been regarded as one of the toughest proving grounds for young drivers looking to make their mark. With Optimum Motorsport’s experience and a clear focus on progression, the Meakin–Porter partnership will be one to watch as the season unfolds.

For Zac, this is more than just the next chapter—it’s the start of his GT3 journey, and all eyes will be on the young Brit as he aims to deliver in one of the most competitive environments in European motorsport.
